Book Review: Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight
I've been reading a lot of fantasy books lately. I love a good fantasy book but sometimes they can all kind of mesh together and seem like the same story with just different characters. I've been feeling that way lately, so when I found myself looking for a new book to read, I perused my Nook's library and found "Reconstructing Amelia"....I have been wanting to read it for sometime now and I'm glad I chose to read it. This book was a page turner for me, I read it in less than a day....ignoring the housework, my kids (to some extent), my husband and even losing a few hours of sleep just to read "one more chapter." I don't want to give too much away and I won't do a long, boring summary so here's the gist of it...Hardworking, single mom who has a great relationship with her 15 year old daughter, gets a call from said daughter's exclusive private school saying daughter is suspended...by the time she gets there her daughter is dead, from what looks like an apparent suicide. But is it really suicide? Lies, betrayal, mean girls, secrets and more....it had me guessing until the very end. Sometimes sad and heartbreaking it struck a cord with me....everyone has known someone who has been bullied...and this book shows it from a grieving mother's view (after her daughter's death) and the teen's. If you've read it, leave a comment below...let me know what you thought.

Book Review: Speak of the Devil by Shawna Romkey
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Speak of the Devil is the debut novel by Shawna Romkey.
From page one, Romkey throws you right into the main characters life. The author's writing flows perfectly, making you feel as though you are right there watching everything happen.
God, Angels, Demons, the Devil--- are they real? What happens when you question your faith and are then thrown into an epic battle between Good and Evil?
This book touches on so many issues, that are relevant to today's teens (and young adults)....Love, death, faith, redemption, loyalty and so many more. Bravo to Romkey, I couldn't put this down!
Book Review: The Faerie Guardian by Rachel Morgan
I received a copy of this eBook book in exchange for an honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It drew me in, literally from page one. Violet, the main character, is a "guardian" in training and is a take charge kind of faery! I immediately loved her. I had a very hard time putting the book down. The characters are well written and pull you through many emotions. Each character makes you feel a different way. Creepy Hollow, where the faeries live, is so colorful you can't help but think of it as "wonderland-esque." This is the first in the series and I can't wait to read the rest to find out what happens!

Book Review: Dark Summer by Lizzy Ford
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review and let me just say....I really, really liked it! I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads and Amazon. The characters are well written and the plot flows easily. I could have easily read this book in one sitting. It's Book #1 in a 3 book series (I also believe there are 2 in-between books). Its labeled YA (young adult), paranormal romance but nothing super risqué ensues...granted there is a "sex scene" but nothing overly detailed. I was drawn in from page one, Summer, Decker, Beck & all the other students make you feel like you are right there. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal romance, magic, fantasy etc. I will definitely be reading the other books, soon! Have you read it? Let me know what you thought.
Series Review: Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward
There is NOTHING like finding an entire series that you just LOVE from the very first book to the last (or latest) book! Black Dagger Brotherhood is THAT series! I read this as a recommendation from one of my book loving friends and I thank my lucky stars she told me about it! It's basically about a kick-ass, dead sexy bunch of GOOD vampire warriors that go around protecting their kind from a group of bad guys called Lesser's. Each book in the series is about a different "brother." My overall FAVORITE character/book in the series is Zsadist and his book is #3 in the series (Lover Awakened). I don't want to give any spoilers so I won't do a summary if each book ( honestly it would take too long and I would definitely give out spoilers..he he). I like each book in the series for different reasons...each brother brings a different element and plot to the overall scheme of things. It can get risqué at times (which I don't mind at all) but from page one of Dark Lover (Book #1) to the last page of Lover At Last (Book #11 & the current book in the series) it had me hooked! I am currently UN-patiently waiting for the next book in the series to be released which will be entitled The King (to be released sometime in 2014). I highly recommend this paranormal romance series! Have you read it? If so, leave me a comment and let me know who you're favorite brother/book is!
