Review for "Deadly Crush (Deadly Trilogy #1)" by Ashley Stoyanoff

Deadly Crush (Deadly Trilogy, #1)

Synopsis:

Dog Mountain is just like any other small town — peaceful and uneventful. Well, that is if peaceful means wolves howling all night, and uneventful means it’s overrun by pesky werewolves, then yes, Dog Mountain is just your average small town.

Jade Shaw has spent the last two years avoiding the pack. But when Aidan Collins moves to town, avoiding the dogs doesn’t seem possible. The pack wants him just as much as she does.

Determined to keep him out of the pack’s grasp, Jade does everything she can to gain his attention. Little does she know, Aidan is in deeper with the pack than she could have imagined, and competing for his attention is a deadly game, one she may not want to win.

My Review:

5 star rating

*I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This review is also done in conjunction with International YA Girls Book Club.*

Ms. Stoyanoff has done it AGAIN! She has made my emotions go all haywire while reading another of her fantastic books. As soon as I read the first page I was hooked (like always). Jade (the main character) is a strong, bull headed and confident character. In the beginning of the book I wasn't sure if I was going to "click" with her personality, but by the end of the book, I was completely on her side. Her relationship, banter and power "struggle" with Aiden had me flipping through the pages so quickly. Aiden's "alpha" cockiness started putting me off a little towards the middle of the book, but by the end I came around and forgave him. Stoyanoff's characters are strong, well rounded and you either love them or you love to hate them! They all fit perfectly into the storyline. The relationships don't feel rushed or forced. I really enjoyed the 2 different point of views throughout the story and liked how the author clearly defined who was talking. The storyline was easy to follow and the twists/turns in the plot kept me entertained as well as surprised. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger but not a frustrating one. It was one that makes you feel sated but still wanting more at the same time. I will definitely be reading the next book as soon as I can get me hands on it! If you like YA and haven't read this book (or ANY of Ashley Stoyanoff's books) you NEED to! You can't go wrong!
